(8)Santa's Enchanted Forest(8)

soo..........I FINALLY (yay!!) FINALLY went to Santa's Enchanted Forest!!!!!! I have been saying since I moved up here that I was going to go and never went...until this year. My friend I went Saturday night and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The lights were so beautiful, it felt so Christmas-y! We rode quite a few rides. (one of which we wasted our time on....whack!) But all the others were mucho fun and my night was as wonderful as I anticipated it would be. We didn't leave the park until after 2am when they were just about running people out of the park.

As I was walking through the park though (apart from all of the things I was thinking) I thought about how even though it felt Christmas-y with all the lights and festivities it was not true to what Christmas is all about. There is no Santa....sorry kiddies! But he just doesn't exist. But THE ONE who Christmas is about did and DOES exist. He was born to a virgin named Mary, in a stable in Bethlehem. He died on the cross for ALL of your sins...and mine! Three days later, He rose again in power and now He is seated at the right hand of God as the great High Priest making intercession for us all. I almost hoped there would have been a manger scene..but there wasn't. There was a random wise man light structure at the entrance though...maybe someone on staff hoped that it would catch the eye of someone and they'd recall WHO the wise men went to see.

PLEASE do not forget who Christmas is about. Remember Christ this Christmas. Remember why He was born and celebrate His birth.

Blessings til next time!

sigh........

..........I have been in a reflective frame of mind ALL day. I was down this morning and had to literally command myself to open my mouth and give God the praise He is due. As the day progressed I just kept singing or talking to Him because it was the only way I knew to get through the day...with His help. I started a new book today...it's called "Dancing in the Spirit" by Karen M. Curry...any dance leader or dancer in the church should get this book. I haven't finished it yet but it is profound and will have you either laughing or going "really??!!"
As I have begun to read this book God has been speaking to me, showing me new things as well as confirming things that have been in my spirit for so long. It's amazing because I have had this book for quite sometime now sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. But everything in God's timing. So I'm looking forward to reading more of this book and hearing from God.

Shout outs to my homies who keep me grounded and uplifted (that's deep right? lol) Love you guys! Keep praying for me as I walk this journey.

FYI: I love God......

.........just thought I should let the masses know that I LOVE GOD!!!! I LOVE JESUS!!! He answers prayer right when you need Him to. And I love Him just because of who He is. I'm thankful to Him for being who He is, thankful for my church and pastor, thankful for the ministries He's placed me in, thankful for the people within those ministries with me, thankful for my wonderful sisters who help to keep me grounded, thankful for the people He's placed in my life who have a positive impact and influence on my life. God knows what He is doing.

I've had a good weekend. I've met with God...He's spoken to me...answered prayer.....danced through me....and He's placed a joy inside of me. I'm seeing Him in ways I've never seen Him before...realizing His tangibility in His Word and through creation. He is hott!!! Love Him!

Is there a better word than AWESOME?!

I ask that question because I REALLY want to know a bigger, better, fuller word that can describe God. The only one that I can think of that sums up how great, majestic, magnificent, powerful, fantabulous God is (to me) is AWESOME!

I have a song in my repetoire of "songs I love" called "Blessings" and the first line of the song says "AWESOME alone is not enough to describe You" and that is so true it's really not enough. I just want to give God praise for who He is..mighty and powerful. And I want to thank Him for answering a prayer that has been in progress for A WHILE! lol

GOD IS GOOD!!! ALL THE TIME!!! AND ALL THE TIME!! GOD IS GOOD!!

Blessings til next time!

Church, Jerk and Hot chocolate

I had a really good day yesterday. Church was great...I realized thta my prayer life had been weak and that it needs a boast and a revamping....change my prayer focus from my wants to God's wants and will for me.
I got to hang with some cool people afterwards. we went to the Jamaican Jerk Festival. the festival itself was aight but the people I went with made the day real chill and fun. I tasted Jerk Ice cream......well according to someone i didnt really cuz i only had one spoon....but it was an interesting spoonful of taste to say the least.
Hot chocolate at 11pm on a sunday night is very warm and comforting. and so is good convo that lasts for an hour and a half. it's interesting what you learn about someone over hot chocolate.

All in all I realized on Sunday that I need more time with God in prayer and His word......I need to have a spiritual mentor to talk to......and that there are still genuinely good and kind people in this world.

Blessings til next time!

1st blog!!!

So I've decided to have a blog....probably not daily....but weekly more than likely...or as things come to mind. This past week has been vey eventful...matter of fact this year has been eventful. Beijing 2008 the likkle island of Jamaica once again showed dat 'Wi likkle but wi tallawah!' setting world records and testifying that a diet with yam, green banana, ackee & saltfish, callaloo and dumpling along with training barefoot on grass tracks produces the fastest people on earth:)

Usain "Lightning" Bolt!!!!! Jamaica 2 di werl!!! (i've met Mr. 2 di werl!)

Then there's the history that was made when the United States of America came together and voted in the first black man into presidency! wow!! cool stuff! now dem have coin wid di man face...dollar and half-dollar IN COLOR!! All that's left is prayer for this newly elected prez and prayer for those of us who must not compromise our faith in the days to come.
